Cable Jointer – Perth - 6885

Salary: $50-$60 per hour DOE
Position: Full Time, Permanent

If you’re an experienced Cable Jointer, we have a super opportunity with a leading construction company in Western Australia. We are seeking motivated Cable Jointers to work in electrical crews in ongoing civil subdivisions and commercial plumbing projects.

Established in 2010, providing the industry with an alternative construction company firmly focused on site productivity and innovative solutions, reducing overheads and client costs to ensure top quality, highly marketable projects completed on time. Our client can undertake civil work projects including bulk earthworks, detailed earthworks, demolition, and civil construction works including sewer and stormwater installation, services installation, retaining walls construction, pavement construction, streetlighting, fencing and landscaping requirements.

Our client will be visiting the UK and Ireland to speak with shortlisted candidates who will be interviewed online over the coming weeks and successful candidates will be invited to meet them in person.

Each candidate must be able to complete a police certificate check that comes back clear due to sponsorship requirements.

Role and responsibilities

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Read and interpret plans to identify and locate underground services accurately.
  • Install and maintain underground electrical cables, ensuring proper connection in transmission and distribution systems.
  • Conduct tests to assess cable integrity, locating and repairing any faults as needed.
  • Execute cable joints with an emphasis on quality.
  • Install internal conduits and cables as required.
  • Rod and rope of underground conduits.
  • Stay updated with technical knowledge and apply new skills to improve job performance.
  • Liaison with Electrical Superintendent and Project Management team to ensure alignment and enhance workflow efficiency on-site.
  • Ensuring effective and efficient use of resources.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards throughout projects.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by management.

Skills & Experience

  • Trade qualified in Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) – Power Systems either Distribution Overhead or Distribution Cable Jointing.
  • Current and valid Driver’s Licence.
  • Demonstrated experience working in an underground cable jointer role with a minimum of 2 contactable work references.
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance certificate.
  • Hold or have the ability to attain relevant tickets (Construction Induction (White Card) Certification and Western Power Basic Network Authority), licenses and accreditations.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Specialist technical capacity.
