Civil Project Manager – Cork - 8067

Salary: €80,000 - €100,000

NexVentur is seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a major utilities and infrastructure package in Co. Cork. The project involves the installation of approximately 10km of ducting through agricultural land and local roads, which has recently commenced with a programme duration of 12–14 months. The works package has a value of circa €5 million.
This is a senior site-based position, offering the opportunity to take ownership of a high-value project from mobilisation through to completion. Our client is a leading civil engineering contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure and utility projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

Role and responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of ducting and civil works across agricultural and local road environments.
  • Manage site operations to ensure works are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
  • Co-ordinate subcontractors, engineers, direct labour, and plant, ensuring alignment with the programme and safety standards.
  • Liaise with local authorities, landowners, utility providers, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track project progress through scheduling tools and detailed reporting, identifying and resolving risks or delays.
  • Oversee health & safety implementation, audits, and toolbox talks, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and client policies.
  • Maintain accurate records including daily site diaries, variations, client correspondence, and progress claims.
  • Represent the client at site meetings with consultants, utility providers, and local authorities.
  • Support commercial teams with forecasting, claims, and handover documentation.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years’ experience in civil infrastructure/utilities projects, ideally with experience in ducting, utility services, or roadworks
  • Strong technical knowledge of civils, utilities installation, and road reinstatement.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent understanding of Irish health & safety legislation, local authority procedures, and utility regulations.
  • Skilled in programme management, resource planning, and risk mitigation.
  • Proficiency in MS Project (or similar scheduling software), Excel, and document control systems.
  • Proactive, delivery-focused approach with excellent communication and organisational skills.
