Do you have a flair for creating CAD Fabrication drawing to great detail and an affinity for mechanical engineering. NexVentur is seeking a Design Engineer on behalf of our construction-sector client for their manufacturing facility located near Knock, Co Mayo.

Role and Responsibilities

• The main responsibilities of the Design Engineer include:
• Creating CAD Fabrication Drawings to great detail (Creo 6.0 or Solidworks).
• Traveling to our Quarry locations to measure plant on site.
• Improve existing products and plant.
• Design of manufacturing processes and products for our plants, using material available to the company.
• Purchasing and Pricing material for Jobs in the Engineering Workshop.
• Have a knowledge of steel and structural sections.
• Work along side the Workshop Foreman to ensure jobs are completed on track without issues.

Skills and Experience

• A relevant qualification (degree in Mechanical Engineering) or similar with minimum 3 years’ experience
• An eye for detail and finishing work to a high standard
• Experience Operating CNC Plasma Machine desirable but not essential.
• Have some mechanical knowledge.
• Knowledge of steel and structural sections.
• Team player, works well with colleagues.
• Have good people skills, as much of the job involves interacting with various parties both internal and external. From Managers to Fabricators, Foremen to Suppliers.
• The ability to deliver projects effectively and on time.
