Role and responsibilities

• The Design Engineer provides specific design and documentation capabilities primarily for post-sales and, on occasion, to the pre-sales activities in order to support the timely and quality delivery of projects and support the growth
• Design HVAC systems in accordance with NCC and Australian standards
• Review and develop design documentation and workshop draft, and provide guidance to drafters
• Utilise engineering principles and software to design and review HVAC systems that meet project specifications and regulatory standards.
• Supervise on-site activities, including equipment installation, testing, and commissioning, to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety regulations.
• Assess subcontractor and supplier submissions for technical compliance
• Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets effectively to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to procure materials and equipment required for project execution.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, resolving any engineering or design- related challenges as they arise.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and progress reports.
• Complete design checks of secured documented, design and construct projects
• Communicate and work collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure timely and quality project delivery
• Provide research and develop new ideas as well as investigate alternative solutions
• Ensure all activities are compliant with relevant acts, legislation and ethical standards
• Any other reasonable duties that may be required

Skills & experience

• Minimum 5 plus years of experience as a design engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems design, installation and commissioning processes.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, CAMEL and other relevant engineering software.
• Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Benefits

• Salary – $130,000 – $140,000 DOE
• Full time permanent role
