An exciting opportunity exists for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and punctual hands-on Qualified Greenkeeper located at an Inner-City Golf Course, to work full time (will include rostered weekend work) whilst managing the on-course team.
Our client is a nationwide Australian landscaping business with offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Auckland that is going through a burst of growth launching exciting new company divisions with a number of new roles and career paths available. They are looking for a talented Greenkeeping Course Operations Manager to join the team.
Role and responsibilities
The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a dynamic and fast paced environment. You will have a comprehensive knowledge of pesticides and their application, experience with all machinery associated with course maintenance, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Maintenance and preparation of daily golf course setup and preventative maintenance
- Ability to work within a team and lead a team in a prompt and professional manner managing timeframes, expectations, presentation and staffing numbers
- Staff rostering – coordinate and manage RDOs, leave, summer season leave
- Operating a range of turf maintenance equipment
- Promote continuous improvement with open communication
- Be able to follow instructions and work autonomously as required
- Management of on-site team
- Adhere to WHS&E policies and proceduresEnter data and document works undertaken
- Support management and fellow employees
Qualifications and experience
- Cert III Turf Management (Diploma in Horticulture - Turf, would be advantageous)
- Relevant licenses, including driver’s licence
- Competency in the use and maintenance of specialised turf machinery and associated equipment
- Experience and knowledge in preparing Golf Course playing surfaces turf for sports,
- Staff Management- Effective interpersonal and people management/supervisory skills
- Accreditation for the application of chemicals
- Experience in golf course renovation programs and practices
- Experience in managing work health and safety
- Accreditation in first aid
- Exceptional eye for detail across all facets of Golf Course Management
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills in a team environment
