Our client, a leading contractor based in Galway City, is looking to hire an experience Health & Safety professional with a background in the Construction Industry.

Role and Responsibilities

• Continuous promotion of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) standards on projects;
• HSQE Project and documentation support including Preliminary and Construction Stage Safety and Health Plans;
• Ensure compliance with current Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and maintain awareness of legislative changes and industry standards;
• Obtaining and reviewing safety documentation from Clients, Suppliers and Subcontractors
• Preparation of Tender and Pre-qualification documents for future work;
• Carrying out Site Inspections and generating reports;
• Liaising with Clients;
• Assist the site team in the preparation of Method Statements, Risk Assessments and associated documentation and records;
• Preparation and delivery of site tool box talks;
• Conduct incident/accident investigations and prepare reports for internal/external purposes;
• Implementing & maintaining ISO environmental & safety standards
• BCAR & Handover documents, multiple site experience
• Provide HSQE advice and direction to staff and contractors, liaising with Site Personnel;
• Compilation of Safety Files and O&M Manuals.

Skills and Experience

• Hold a recognised HSQE qualification;
• Minimum of 4 years HSQE experience;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Excellent planning, organisational, training, teamwork, problem resolution and presentation skills;
• Excellent literacy, numeric and IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office;
• Full, clean driving license.

• Salary €60,000 – €65,000 per year
