Our clients are nursing homes across Mayo, Roscommon, Galway and Sligo looking for experienced healthcare assistants.

Role and responsibilities

Among your duties, you will:

• Help assist residents to get up on the corridor you are allocated
• Check shower list and assist with shower & dressing of resident
• Assist residents to the dining room
• Assist residents to toilet as required
• Assist residents at all mealtimes
• Assist residents with whatever activity they like to do
• Bring residents for a walk daily
• Assist residents to bed after 6pm
• Change bed linen when required
• Empty bins as required
• Update residents data on tablet daily

Skills & qualifications

• Minimum of a QQI Level 5 (or equivalent) in Healthcare/Pre nursing course
• Manual and People Handling (preferred not mandatory)
• Infection Prevention (preferred not mandatory)
• Ideally you will have prior experience care/medical experience
• An ability to work on your own initiative or as part of a team
• Strong communications skill with a high level of verbal and written English
• Most important you must be passionate about improving the lives of others
