NexVentur is working with our client to recruit a Health & Safety Officer in Claremorris. Projects are in the Civil & Groundworks sector, with locations in the West and Midlands.

This is a good opportunity for a H&S Advisor with 3+ years’ experience to join a growing company, and secure work in the West, with office location in Mid/South Mayo.

Travel will be required with this role – to sites in the West & Midlands

Role and responsibilities

• Planning, implementation & review of suitable Health & Safety systems.
• Update and maintain H&S procedures and the Safety Statement in compliance with Regulatory requirements.
• Create risk assessments and method statements for all works and develop and implement appropriate controls.
• Provide technical support regarding the H&S management system, legislation updates, and other technical advice
• Provide Induction, Refresher and Manual Handling Training as required.
• Ensure that safety audits are carried out throughout the site in conjunction with the management team.
• Work closely with staff to ensure all safety equipment is calibrated and inspected at regular intervals.

Qualifications, skills & experience

• Minimum Level 7 H&S qualification or similar
• 1+ years’ career experience in H&S preferred
• Positive working attitude
• Good organisation and communication skills
• Own transport
