HSE Manager – Perth - 6467

Location: Perth
Salary: $150,000 - $180,000
Position: Full Time, Permanent

NexVentur is urgently looking to recruit an experienced HSE Manager for a specialised civil contractor in Perth, Western Australia. Our client provides pile testing, pile driving, drilling and concrete solutions to a variety of solar projects throughout Australia.

A great remuneration package is on offer to the right person with 4-10 years’ experience. You will need to be flexible to travel to sites around Australia, approx. 50/50 on site/office based.

Ideally we are looking for a candidate with a visa to work in Australia (417 Working Holiday Visa) but open to sponsorship for the right candidate (482 visa).

Role and responsibilities

  • Strategise, develop and implement best practice and contemporary initiatives to improve safety culture and performance across the business
  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain Health & Safety and Environmental frameworks
  • Monitor the implementation of the HSEMP, policies and procedures, objectives and targets
  • Lead the HSE team
  • Establish and monitor KPI Targets nationally
  • Support the preparation and conduct of HSE audits
  • Collect statistical reports from relevant personnel and report performance outcomes to the Senior Management
  • Establish key relationships with internal and external clients, contractors and relevant partners to ensure that HSE requirements are developed, implemented and reviewed on a regular basis
  • Maintain current, extensive knowledge of relevant legislation and state-based requirements
  • Travel to sites and proactively drive and deliver site establishment and continuous improvement of H&S culture and systems
  • Maintain internal policies and frameworks in line with legislative requirements
  • Report on health, safety and environmental statistics, coordinate and perform audits and deliver monthly reporting
  • Analyse statistics to identify trends and adopt strategies to improve safety performance
  • Distributing Safety Bulletins, circulars, updates, and amendments concerning workplace health and safety to the project sites
  • Keeping Senior Management informed of any H&S issues
  • Support the facilitation of investigations into safety related incidents
  • Coaching of all employees in key Health, Safety & Environmental matters such as Risk Management, continuous improvement, Fitness for Work, Manual Handling, Mental Health and Wellbeing and Health and Safety Management Plans
  • Works to development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs
