NexVentur is hiring an experienced Mechanical Foreman on behalf of our client, a respected M&E contractor based in the West of Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson or site professional ready to step into a leadership role on high-profile industrial and commercial projects across the Connacht region.

In this role, you’ll take charge of on-site mechanical teams, ensuring top-quality workmanship, effective team coordination, and strict adherence to health and safety standards.

Role and responsibilities

• Supervise and co-ordinate plumbing teams on-site, ensuring works are completed to schedule and quality standards.
• Interpret and work from construction drawings, and specifications.
• Liaise with the site foreman, project managers, and other trades / sub-contractors to ensure smooth workflow.
• Oversee the installation of plumbing systems including Heating & Hot water systems, Pipework systems, Drainage & vent systems + Smart & Sustainable technologies.
• Carry out quality control inspections and rectify issues as needed.
• Ensure all works comply with safety regulations and company health & safety policies.
• Maintain accurate records of labour, materials, and progress.
• Mentor apprentices and junior plumbers, fostering a positive team environment.

Qualifications, skills & experience

• Fully qualified plumber with a recognised National Craft Certificate or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ experience in plumbing, with commercial/industrial experience preferred.
• Experience in a supervisor or chargehand role is desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and plans.
• Excellent communication and organisation skills.
• High standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of H&S procedures in the construction sector.
