Occupational Therapist – Regional NSW - 7607

Role and responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive functional and capacity-based assessments to identify client needs, strengths, and goals.
  • Develop and implement person-centred, evidence-based therapy plans across areas such as self-care, emotional regulation, sensory processing, motor skills, and social participation.
  • Deliver services in participant’s homes, schools, early learning centres, and within clinic locations.
  • Prescribe, recommend, and support the implementation of assistive technology and environmental modifications.
  • Educate and coach clients, carers, and support workers in the use of strategies and equipment to promote skill development and independence.
  • Regularly review therapy outcomes and adjust approaches in collaboration with clients and families.
  • Prepare high-quality, outcome-focused reports aligned with NDIS requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant NDIS Practice Standards.
  • Work closely with participants, families, carers, support coordinators, educators, and other allied health professionals.
  • Provide training and support to families and staff to promote carryover of therapy strategies.
  • Engage in regular clinical supervision and reflective practice.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development.
  • Actively support and participate in the organisation’s safety programs.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Experience providing collaborative support to individuals with disability, their families, and carers.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including writing detailed reports.
  • Ability to apply evidence-based interventions across the lifespan.
  • Sound knowledge of the NDIS and its operational framework.
