Our client is a well established and leading mechanical engineering company in the beautiful west of Ireland. They are looking to hire an Operations Manager to assist the directors in running the day to day business. The job will be based in the company headquarters near Castlebar, Co Mayo.

Duties and responsibilities

As Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• To ensure optimal commercial return is achieved for the business and ongoing works
• Managing & delegating work according to the project managers & engineers
• Winning new work & reviewing tenders
• Managing & delivering projects on time
• Hiring staff
• Reviewing contracts, attending meetings with the client, design teams, subcontractors and specialist subcontractors.

Skills and Experience

• Engineering degree or similar with min 5+ years’ in a leadership role
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail, able to gather, interpret and present data to facilitate & win tender bids
• Methodical, conscientious and organized, works to deliver high standards.
• Confident working with people at all levels
