Project Manager – multiple roles - 2835

NexVentur is recruiting on behalf of several construction companies across Asustralia looking for project managers. We are looking for people with experience on large Civil or Building projects in Ireland or the UK. You will need to be comfortable with managing multiple design and construction projects running at the same time, including organising and delegating tasks to staff, other departments, site supervisors and multiple trades. As project manager, you will engage, manage and work with site management and construction teams to coordinate project requirements driving construction teams and sub-contractors on site.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and experience to assist site-manager/foreman in management of quality control, defects identification, and non-conformance with contract documentation of subcontractors’ works.
  • Ability to liaise with clients and their senior representatives in a professional and commercial manner
  • Problem solving capability and solutions-based approach
  • Oversee and manage project specific supply chain and procurement procedures working closely with other internal departments
  • Forecasting resource requirements for future and upcoming projects and have the ability to identify deficiencies in resourcing and support
  • Subcontractor and supplier procurement, including negotiation of terms and conditions and issuing purchase orders and sub-contracts for projects
  • Register and control of all project documentation.
  • Review trade scopes, evaluate tenders, and negotiate and administer sub-contracts.
  • Reviewing and assessing sub-contractor progress claims against work completed.
  • Project expenditure reporting, administrating RFI’s, and assisting with contracts such as progress claims, delay claims & external variations.
  • Review and process all subcontractor claims and creditor invoices
  • Develop construction programs and update/track against site progress.
  • Preparing cost forecasts and completing cost planning and budgeting as required.
  • Prepare handover manuals prior to project completion and manage/coordinate sub-contractor defects lists rectifications throughout project construction life cycle including defects liability period.
  • Arranging supplies & delivery of building materials.
  • Inspecting daily building work to check quality compliance with BCA & relevant drawings.
  • Construction admin tasks including scheduling, procurement of materials and sub-contractors, and contract management/Administration.

Skills and Experience

  • Construction Management, Engineering or similar Tertiary Degree ideal; OR
  • Trade background with Supervisors Certificate / Builders license also considered
  • Minimum of 3+ years working as a Project Manager or similar role
  • Proven experience working on design and construct civil/building projects ideal but not essential
  • Proficient with computers and in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Outlook
  • Current driver’s license required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work in a team-focused and professional environment
