We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their team working in projects throughout the Perth area. Initially this position will be carrying out project located in the northern suburbs of Perth. This position would suit someone looking for an autonomous role, who has proven experience and is confident managing the day to day program, contruction methodology, procurement and labour requirements on site with support from the Project Manager. Initially this role will be working on a project based in Alkimos for 2023.

Operating nationally as head contractor, our client list includes local councils and State utilities and water authorities. As a specialist subcontractor on major civil infrastructure projects they have delivered successful projects for a variety of tier one and two construction companies and alliances.

Role and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the following:

• Water, wastewater and stormwater Pipeline construction
• Water retaining concrete structures
• Trenches
• Shafts
• Civil structures
• Infrastructure

Reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with the Site Supervisor the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Coordinating and administering construction engineering activities
• Ensuring projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications
• Assisting the Project Manager and Site Supervisor to develop daily programmes
• Management of the project quality documentation and requirements
• Ensuring compliance with client requirements and company policies and procedures
• Procuring required materials and equipment for the project
• Monitoring construction progress to ensure quality specifications are adhered to
• Assisting with contractual claims (variations, extensions of time)
• Contributing to monthly project reporting

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Experience working with a blue-collar work force
• Experience with the construction of Water Corporation infrastructure
• Ideally micro-tunneling experience (but not essential)
• Experience working on water pipeline and/or wastewater projects
• Experience with in-situ concrete construction
• Bachelor of Engineering or its equivalent
• Strong leadership skills
• Demonstrable experience leading and managing safety and environment controls; and
• Strong written and oral communication skills with experience compiling reports and liaising with stakeholders.
