One of the biggest names in energy infrastructure in Australia, our client builds, operates and maintains major energy infrastructure assets nationwide. They are currently looking to hire a Project Engineer/Site Engineer with gas experience in Sydney.

You will work for a leading company delivering a wide range of engineering, project management, construction, operations and maintenance services to power and gas asset owners. With a diverse workforce of over 1,700 people in Australia, the company is growing rapidly and is set to double revenue over the next 5 years.

Typical projects range between $5m-$50m (although projects $50m-$100m+ are common), primarily across substations (greenfield build or brownfield asset replacement) and transmission line construction/life-extension work.

Role and Responsibilities

The Project / Site Engineer’s role is to provide project engineering / project management expertise and support to the Project Manager, Operations Manager and other stakeholders as required. As well as providing engineering expertise, planning to deliver complex projects through their complete lifecycle. Management of design consultants to deliver a quality design on time and budget.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Experience in delivery of capital works
• Planning experience
• Experience with trade coordination of large-scale engineering and / or infrastructure projects
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven track record of achieving results through influencing and relationship skills
• Ability to understand cross discipline engineering principles

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Engineering degree in relevant field or studying (essential)
• Previous project engineering experience in a similar industry (essential)
• Previous experience preparing and maintaining project quality records to client requirements (essential)
• Managing or working for design consultants (preferred)
