NexVentur is partnering with a Tier 1 building contractor to recruit an experienced Site Engineer for a cutting-edge commercial build in Waterford. As Site Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering a high-profile project to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency—making your mark on a build that sets the benchmark for modern construction.

Role and responsibilities

• Setting out, levelling, and surveying the site in line with project requirements.
• Managing day-to-day engineering duties to ensure the smooth progress of works.
• Checking plans, drawings, and quantities for accuracy of calculations.
• Co-ordinating with the project team, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and works.
• Maintaining up-to-date site records including as-built drawings, quality checks, and progress reports.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
• Assisting with project planning, sequencing, and reporting to the Site Manager/Project Manager.
• Troubleshooting technical issues and providing practical solutions to keep the project on schedule.

Qualifications, skills & experience

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• 3+ years’ experience as a Site Engineer, ideally on commercial build projects.
• Proven track record working with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.
• Strong setting out skills with experience using Total Station, GPS, and AutoCAD.
• Excellent communication and co-ordination skills with a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing project team.
• Knowledge of Irish construction regulations, safety standards, and quality procedures.
