NexVentur is seeking an experienced Civil Site Manager, to join our clients’ team in County Mayo.

The successful candidate will lead site operations on key rail infrastructure projects. The role is a mix of traditional civil engineering and specialised rail works.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site crews, ensuring that all projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the high standards required in a regulated rail environment.

Role and responsibilities

• Co-ordinate daily site activities, directing plant, labour, and subcontractors to ensure the project stays on schedule.
• Oversee works within the rail corridor, ensuring strict adherence to Irish Rail safety protocols and possession requirements.
• Lead the “Safety First” culture on-site by conducting inductions, tool-box talks, and ensuring all works follow approved RAMS.
• Monitor the installation of civil infrastructure – including drainage, concrete works, and ducting—ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Maintain detailed site records, including daily diaries and resource allocation sheets, reporting directly to the Project Manager.
• Manage site deliveries and traffic management, ensuring minimal disruption to both the public and rail operations.

Qualifications, skills & experience

• Minimum 5+ years of supervisory experience in heavy civils, with a preference for a background in Rail.
• Deep understanding of track-side safety, embankment works, and civil infrastructure.
• Valid Safe Pass and CSCS (Supervisory) are essential.
• Rail-specific safety tickets (e.g., PTS or equivalent) are highly advantageous.
• Strong ability to lead a crew and liaise effectively with Site Engineers and client representatives.
• Must be based in or able to commute reliably throughout the Mayo region.

Benefits

• Salary: €65,000 – €75,000 DOE
