Social Work and Diversity Manager – Melbourne - 4041

Location: Melbourne
Salary: From $80,000 DOE
Position: Full Time

Our Client in Melbourne has an open role in the Social Work and Diversity department.

The Social Work department is strongly involved in discharge planning and has a residential care team set up to specifically address this patient care need. The department is involved in research, with an active and dynamic supervision and quality program. It is also extensively involved in undergraduate education. Reporting to the Director of Allied Health, you engender a culture of clinical excellence within Social Work.

You will be accountable for the planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of the Social Work and Diversity (Interpreters, Cultural Diversity, Disability Liaison Officers and LGBTQIA+ Patient Navigators) services across a range of indicators. This includes ensuring that staff are appropriately credentialed, inducted and supported in order to deliver safe, high-quality care. As a manager you will provide leadership in the adoption of the hospital values, and modelling of behaviours consistent with these. As an integral member of the Allied Health Management Team, you will also hold specific Allied Health leadership portfolios, involving participation in a nominated service executive with senior medical and nursing colleagues, and providing leadership for the Allied Health team within that service. In this role you will have the opportunity to inform, plan and implement strategy designed to ultimately provide excellent patient care.

Skills and Experience

  • Recognised Social Work qualifications providing eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • Relevant Post Graduate qualifications e.g., health service management, administration, business management or relevant field. Essential
  • Commitment to live the Melbourne Way – putting people first, leading with kindness and achieving excellence together.
  • Extensive clinical knowledge, with advanced management and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a clear patient focus.
  • Excellent relationship management, communication, and presentation skills, Dynamic and innovative approach to problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in financial and Human Resource management.

Desirable

  • Experience in the areas of Diversity or Interpreter Services
  • Membership and involvement with AASW
